Short answer

USDT vs USDC explained in plain language: what it is, how it works on a USDT-billed no-KYC checkout, and where to read deeper. BitCloudVPS glossary.

The one-paragraph version

Both are dollar-pegged tokens; both settle hosting invoices to the cent. USDT is issued by Tether, runs on seven chains here (TRC-20 is the workhorse), and dominates global volume. USDC is issued by Circle, is US-attested-heavy in its compliance posture, and on this checkout settles through x402 on Base — the machine-native path. Both issuers hold freeze authority over their token.

Business $24/mo (6 vCPU / 16 GB DDR5) is the production size. Crypto invoice, no KYC.

How the checkout treats them

USDT: full checkout asset — invoices and prepaid balances on any of the seven chains (the hub). USDC: the x402 settlement rail, designed for agents signing their own payments (USDC VPS). Plan prices are identical in both; the peg risk window is the payment window either way (settlement).

Choosing between them

Human paying an invoice with a wallet: USDT for rail choice, USDC if Base/x402 suits the flow. A machine paying autonomously: x402 USDC — no wallet dance, HTTP-native (agent walkthrough). Freeze and privacy trade-offs are shared: both tokens are public-ledger and issuer-freezable — the mechanics for USDT apply in spirit to USDC.

The seven checks that separate no-KYC hosts, October 2026 edition

Compare candidates on facts, not vibes: (1) ECC RAM or consumer DIMMs; (2) local NVMe versus network-attached disk; (3) unmetered port speed and what the burst ceiling really is; (4) DDoS filtering included or sold as an add-on; (5) how many jurisdictions the rack map actually covers — twenty-one here, including Reykjavik, Bucharest, Shanghai; (6) checkout depth — 19 checkout assets — BTC, XMR, ETH, SOL, LTC, TRX, XRP, DOGE, DASH, ADA, GRAM (TON) and USDT on 7 networks, token-only signup, no KYC; (7) provisioning time in writing. This line passes all seven: Nano $5.49 (1 vCPU / 2 GB ECC / 40 GB NVMe; flat $36/yr = $3/mo effective), Starter $8.50 (2 vCPU / 4 GB DDR4 ECC / 60 GB NVMe), Plus $13.50 (4 vCPU / 8 GB DDR4 ECC / 120 GB NVMe), Business $30 (6 vCPU / 16 GB DDR5 ECC / 240 GB NVMe), Pro $45 (8 vCPU / 24 GB DDR5 ECC / 400 GB NVMe), Max $60 (12 vCPU / 32 GB DDR5 ECC / 640 GB NVMe); dedicated boxes from Start $79.50 (Intel Xeon E-2388G, 32 GB DDR4 ECC) to Ultra $449.50 (2 x AMD EPYC 9474F / 3.6-4.1 GHz, 512 GB DDR5 ECC-R), all with IPMI and DDoS scrubbing. Rival-by-rival alternatives. The no-KYC baseline. Is USDC safer than USDT?

Different issuer risk profiles — reserve composition and jurisdiction differ, and neither is risk-free. For an invoice paid within minutes, the practical difference is negligible.

Can I pay a normal invoice with USDC?

Through x402 on Base, yes — that is its lane here. The seven-chain USDT catalog remains the widest-rail option for wallet payments.

Do both tokens have blacklists?

Yes — both issuers can freeze addresses at the contract level. The structural freeze-free alternative is Monero.

What should disqualify a no-KYC host immediately?

KYC or ID scans at signup, mandatory email verification before you can pay, per-GB bandwidth billing dressed up as 'unmetered', no DDoS answer, and a trust profile you cannot verify. A suspiciously cheap '8 GB KVM' usually means oversold containers or fake vCPU counts.

Do lookalike brands matter?

Yes — check the exact domain. Impersonators trade on known names; the alternatives pages list the verification checks we use before quoting any rival, and the same habit protects you when paying us.
